Reflections on International Women’s Day

This week, I had the privilege of attending a beautiful event hosted by Ethical Clothing Australia, and it couldn’t have been more timely with International Women’s Day arriving this Sunday.

What struck me most wasn’t just the event itself. It was the energy in the room.

The collective strength, creativity, and determination of women who are standing firmly in their values, particularly when it comes to ethical manufacturing and locally made designs.

In a time when the economic climate can feel uncertain, it was incredibly inspiring to see so many women continuing to lead their businesses with integrity and purpose.

Standing Firm in What Matters

Running a values-based business isn’t always the easiest path.

Choosing ethical manufacturing, supporting local production, and prioritising sustainability often requires more effort, more commitment, and sometimes greater financial investment.

But what was so powerful about this gathering was witnessing how many women are choosing to stay true to their values anyway. Not because it’s easy. But because it’s right.
