It’s Time to Bring the Love Back to You

It’s Time to Bring the Love Back to You

There are some weeks when the same message seems to come up over and over again, and this has definitely been one of them. In conversations with clients this week, I’ve repeatedly found myself talking about self-care, self-love, and self-worth, and particularly our tendency to take responsibility for everyone around us while quietly putting ourselves somewhere near the bottom of the list. So perhaps this is a message that more of us need to hear right now: it’s time to bring some of that love back to you.

For many of us, putting ourselves first can feel uncomfortable. We’ve been conditioned to believe that being a good partner, parent, friend, colleague, or carer means being there for everyone else, often at our own expense. We become the strong one, the reliable one, the person who sorts everything out, and before we know it, we’re over-responsible for everyone else’s happiness while our own needs are patiently waiting in the background. But caring for yourself doesn’t mean you stop caring about other people; it simply means recognising that your wellbeing matters too.

From an energetic perspective, I think this is particularly important as we continue moving through what I describe as the fourth-density band of consciousness. This is the sorting, clearing, and integration phase between the heavier, more ego-driven ways of living and the lighter, more soul-led way of being that so many of us are moving towards. We’re being encouraged to look at what no longer fits, which old beliefs and patterns we’ve outgrown, and where we’re still giving away too much of ourselves through obligation, guilt, people-pleasing, or simply because that’s what we’ve always done.

An important part of that transition is heart integration, and Kaz and I discuss this in this week’s Quantum Thread Podcast, including some really interesting insights and wisdom that came through in Kaz’s channel. For me, heart integration means bringing the love, compassion, and understanding we so freely offer everybody else back towards ourselves as well. It’s learning to respect what we need, honour what we feel, and become comfortable saying yes when we genuinely mean yes and no when we genuinely mean no.

There’s also some interesting research around self-compassion and the way we treat ourselves. Studies have found that greater self-compassion is associated with lower levels of stress and anxiety and better emotional wellbeing. It’s a good reminder that the words we use, the expectations we place on ourselves, and the compassion we show ourselves really do matter. We’re often so conscious of being kind and understanding towards everyone else, yet perhaps it’s time we included ourselves in that same circle of care.

Maybe it’s time to notice how you actually speak to yourself as well. We can be incredibly forgiving and understanding when someone we love makes a mistake, yet when it’s us, that inner critic can suddenly have plenty to say. Those old self-sabotaging thoughts may have been running for years, but that doesn’t mean we have to keep believing them. When one appears, rather than automatically following it down the rabbit hole, we can become consciously aware of it and say, “Actually, I don’t want to believe that about myself anymore.” Then we can begin replacing that old story with something gentler, more supportive, and more aligned with who we are becoming.

I love the image that came through this week from Kaz’s channel of wrapping yourself in a beautiful blanket of self-care and compassion. Not hiding from the world underneath it, but allowing yourself to feel supported by your own love for a change. What would that look like in your everyday life? It might mean taking some time for yourself without feeling guilty, resting when your body asks you to, being more discerning with your time and energy, asking for help instead of always being the helper, or simply making choices based on what feels right for you rather than what keeps everybody else happy.

As someone who works with energy and helps people create shifts through conscious awareness, I believe we can’t move into greater coherence and connection while continually abandoning ourselves in the process. The love we’re looking for isn’t only something we give away or hope to receive from somebody else; it also needs to become part of the relationship we have with ourselves. Perhaps that’s part of what this current period of clearing and integration is asking of us - to stop proving our worth through how much we do for everybody else and start recognising that we are worthy of our own care, respect, compassion and love.

So this week, notice where you might be over-responsible for everyone around you and ask whether some of that precious energy could come home to you. Give yourself permission to put yourself first sometimes, to say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no, and to question those old thoughts that tell you otherwise. Wrap yourself in that beautiful blanket of self-care and compassion and remember that loving yourself isn’t selfish; it’s part of creating the strong, coherent foundation from which you can show up more authentically for your own life and for the people you love.

Trust. Believe. Allow.
