What If the Message Is Right in Front of Your Face?

What If the Message Is Right in Front of Your Face?

Seeing beyond the obvious and noticing what life is showing you

I’d just arrived from Townsville, and the sun was shining, the water was glistening, and Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island was looking absolutely gorgeous. So my girlfriend and I threw on our bikinis and headed off to explore.

What started as a wander turned into a 4 km walk and, as often happens when you get two girlfriends together, we started workshopping life. We talked about what we wanted to create, what the lives of our dreams might look like, what we wanted more of, and what else might be possible.

We weren’t looking for signs or asking the Universe for answers. We were simply walking, talking, laughing, and imagining.

But along the way, we started noticing things.

Cockatoos. A praying mantis. A beautiful feather. A tiny sand dollar with an incredible five-petalled pattern. And finally, right there beneath our feet, this amazing pattern in the wet sand that looked like a Tree of Life - complete with what appeared to be gold flowing through its roots, trunk, and branches.

Considering we'd spent the previous few kilometres talking about life, growth, possibility and creation, it certainly made us stop and take notice.

Now, were all these things deliberately placed in our path as messages? Who knows? And I don't actually think that's the important part.

The question that fascinated me was: Why did we notice them?

Our brains receive far more sensory information than we can consciously process, so our attention constantly filters what we become aware of. It's why when you decide you want a particular car, suddenly you seem to see that car everywhere. The cars haven't necessarily changed - your attention has.

Perhaps our walk was similar. We were talking about possibilities, imagining, questioning, and creating. We were moving our bodies, surrounded by nature, beside the ocean, and not rushing anywhere.

We were available to notice.

And maybe that's where Intention, Intuition, Discernment. and Imagination come in. Intention brings our attention into the present. Intuition gives us that little nudge to stop and look. Imagination allows us to see beyond the obvious. And discernment lets us decide whether something genuinely means something to us rather than trying to make everything a sign.

That's why I love Walk Yourself Like a Dog™. Sometimes we don't need to sit there thinking harder, searching for another answer, or consuming more information. Sometimes we need to move our bodies, get outside, connect with nature, and simply pay attention.

Because perhaps the message isn't always hidden in the feather, the praying mantis, or the pattern in the sand.

Perhaps the real message is in what we notice, what it awakens in us, and what we choose to do with it.

So this week, take a walk. Look up. Look down. Look around. Stay curious about what catches your attention.

Because sometimes the clarity we're searching for isn't somewhere out there.

It may already be right in front of our face - or directly beneath our feet.

Where your attention goes, the energy flows.

Trust. Believe. Allow.❤️
